Hooray for Mumphy!

Everybody already knows that Mom (aka "Mumphy", to Sarah) is a Mench (translation: a good person) and a Macher (translation: a mover and a shaker, both Yiddish). On December 4th, the Historical Society opened it's new exhibit on the Civil War, and of course Mumphy stole the show in her hand-made gown! Mom has been active in the Historical Society for some 25 years, and has basically served on the Board in every capacity possible, except Director. She loves history, and loves bringing local history to young and old alike.

Here are Sarah and Mom with Aunt Muriel and Aunt Stelle, the greatest great-aunts ever!

On December 12th, Mom celebrated her 59th birthday! And what a birthday it was!
Sometimes life throws an opportunity in your lap, and you have to run with it: Earlier in the week, the Director of the Historical Society gave notice that she was resigning her position at the end of the year...and so on December 11th, the Board voted to institute a new Director...
our very own Debby Shapiro!!!! Congratulations Mumphy, we are so proud of you! You will be just great at your new gig, because, after all, you're the best!
(Folks, don't panic...she will continue to practice law...at least a little bit...because the new job is only part-time!)
