From the City, to the Beach!

We celebrated the 4th of July this year at a backyard barbeque in Queens with Ro's family. It was so hot (about 100 degrees), that the Mayor authorized the opening of the city fire hydrants.

All the kids on the block including David (in orange), and Junior (on the bike), ran through.

Later that night, I told the kids that when I wanted to cool off in CT, I would go to the beach. One mention of the beach, and they begged us to take them. With a day off on Monday, why not? Especially when they told us that they had NEVER been to the beach. Really.

So the next day, we strapped Kim, David and Faith in the car, and headed up to Westbrook.

Here's the proof that we all went in the water. It was the perfect temperature! (Photo courtesy of Deborah Shapiro...lol!)

Kim, Faith and David might have enjoyed the sand more than the water....

What's the beach without sandcastles? David's.

Kim's.

And Faith's shell collection.
The kids had such a good time, they said they never wanted to leave. But alas, the next day they did. Next year!!!
