Ro's Big 3-0!

On Friday, May 14, Ro turned 30! To celebrate the big day, we went out to our favorite restaurant, Forbidden City, where Brian, the mixologist, catered to our every cocktail-fantasy. Outstanding!

We then came home where Mumphy had made Ro a white chocolate torte covered with lemon cheesecake custard and kiwis. It was delicous, and tasted better than it looked. (Yes, it was a little lumpy!)

But Ro made a wish and blew out the candles regardless!

The big gift of the evening was a new camera. We had been without a camera since our trip to Jamaica, and it fell into the Carribbean Sea. (Hence the delay in our recent blog postings!)

The next day, Suzanne and Sam came up from NY to celebrate, and they gave Ro a Red Stripe beach chair!

He vows to use it many times this summer!

Later that night, our friends traveled from near and far to celebrate Ro's birthday on a Downtown Middletown Pub Crawl!

We started in the North End at Eli Canon's where we thoroughly enjoyed the pulled pork nachos and buffalo wings for dinner....

Where they let us christen their new outdoor patio!

Enjoying the new patio, before anyone else even saw it!

Ramon!

Then it was time for the cake that I MADE! (I had spent all afternoon at my mom's house making a quasi-erotic pineapple coconut mermaid cake, fashioned to look much like myself!). Here, Ro points out that the mermaid is topless!

We light the candles.

And Ro tells his family and friends just how thankful he is to celebrate with them. (The toast was MUCH shorter than at the wedding, thank god!)

Posing with the mermaid cake.

Cutting the cake. It was really really really good, if I do say so myself!

MMM, Cake!

At the next stop, Hair of the Dog. We later ended up at Nikita's, Firehouse, and even attempted at stop at Valentino's! (Although by the time we got there, the dancer was 'already dressed', so the cake was as erotic as it got!)

We made it to closing time, still standing!
Happy 30th Birthday Ro! I hope that our second decade together, in our 30's, is even better than the last!
